Bump Steer

Early Fords were renowned for their bump steer – a tendancy to change wheel direction when the tyre bumped or left the road surface. Coil over shock tends to improve this but if steering components suffer wear then bump steer can suddenly reappear. Any hint of bump steer and you need to get under the car and check your steering system. This week the Petrolhead has to replace an idler arm to remedy some bump steer. Continue reading
